Meet Tiffany
Mother. Educator. Advocate
Tiffany Perkinz is a mother of six, a dedicated educator, and a passionate advocate for academic freedom. With a Master’s degree in English and years of experience teaching in both public and private schools, Tiffany has spent her life helping students think critically, communicate confidently, and succeed academically.
She currently owns and operates a tutoring and teaching business, working with students from diverse backgrounds, learning styles, and academic needs. From struggling readers to advanced learners, Tiffany meets students where they are and helps them grow.
At her core, Tiffany believes education should be honest, challenging, and rooted in trust — trust in students, trust in teachers, and trust in the power of learning.
Experience in the classroom and in the home
As a parent of six children educated in Texas public schools, Tiffany understands the challenges families face every day. She sees how instability, underfunding, and politicized decision-making affect students, teachers, and communities.
As a classroom teacher, Tiffany saw firsthand how political interference and curriculum censorship can disrupt learning and undermine teacher professionalism. While teaching dual-credit English literature courses, she experienced targeted pushback for teaching approved literature designed to foster critical thinking and academic rigor. She realized how vulnerable educators become when political agendas are allowed to override professional standards.
These experiences deepened her resolve to stand up for classrooms that prioritize learning over ideology.
A Leader Who Will Stand Up for Public Education
Tiffany is running for the Texas State Board of Education because she believes public schools belong to the public — all of us.
She is committed to protecting academic freedom, supporting teachers as content-area experts, and ensuring curriculum reflects truthful history and evidence-based science. Tiffany believes classrooms should be places of curiosity and growth, not fear and censorship.
At a time when public education is being weakened by political agendas, Tiffany offers steady, informed leadership grounded in experience, integrity, and respect for educators and families.
She is running to restore trust, professionalism, and honesty in Texas education — and to ensure every child has the opportunity to learn freely and fully.
